Author: James Orpwood

Mountaineer, mountain biker, author and former fisheries scientist James has a passion for sharing his love of Scotland’s mountains and wild places with others. James runs his own small business, James Orpwood Mountaineering, offering guided summer hill walking, guided winter hill walking, navigation training and winter skills courses from his home in Aviemore in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. James may also be seen out and about working for several other outdoor activity providers, as well as guiding adventure travel holidays. Away from home, James also enjoys world travel and has trekked and climbed in Morocco, Nepal, Bolivia and Iceland, reaching summits in excess of 6,000 m. Nonetheless, James loves to return home and enjoy the wonderful scenery of the Scottish Highlands and Islands, wherever the adventure leads.
